Information Regarding District Provided Trash and Recycling Services

Who is providing trash and recycling services?

Waste Management of Colorado, Inc.(“WM”) will provide trash and recycling services to the homes in the Wright Farms Metropolitan District (excluding Jasmine Estates).

When are services beginning?

The first Trash pickup day will be April 4. The first recycling pickup day will be April 11. Trash will be picked up weekly on Fridays and recycling will be picked up every other Friday (gold weeks on the WM Calendar). Please see the calendar below for reference.

WM will begin delivery of trash and recycling bins on March 28, 2025, with delivery completed by March 29, 2025.

How often will service be provided?

Trash collection services will be provided every week and recycling services will be provided every other week. Please see the calendar below. Recycling will be collected on gold weeks.

Why is the Wright Farms Metropolitan District providing trash and recycling services?

Currently, each property owner in the District must privately contract for their trash and recycling services. This has resulted in trash and recycling trucks in the community multiple days each week at a higher overall cost to the residents.

The Wright Farms Metropolitan District is able to provide the services at a less expensive unit cost per home and, by being the sole provider, will reduce the number of days when trash and recycle trucks are in the community.

Who is paying for this?

The District will pay for the standard Trash and Recycling Services, which includes one 96-gallon trash bin and one 96-gallon recycling bin per home. There is no additional cost to the property owners for the standard services.

Extra bins and large-item pick can be requested by each property owner at the property owner’s expense.

Do I have to pay for new bins?

WM will provide one 96-gallon trash bin and one 96-gallon recycle bin to each residential property within the District at no cost to the community, excluding Jasmine Estates.

WM will begin delivery of trash and recycling bins on March 28, 2025, with delivery completed by March 29, 2025.

What if I want more than one trash and/or recycling bin?

Any property owner may request additional trash and recycle bins from WM. The cost for any additional bins, including delivery and pickup charges, will be the responsibility of the property owner.

The monthly charge for an extra cart is $4.00 for a trash cart, or $4.00 + Recycle Material Offset Chare (RMO) for a recycle cart. (RMO is currently about $1.60 per month and varies based on recycle commodity pricing). Residents who sign up for extra carts will be billed monthly directly by WM. There is an administrative fee for paper bills of $8.50, which can be avoided with paperless billing and autopay. Please contact fchoacarts@wm.com for additional
carts.

Can I use my own trash and recycling bins?

No. WM will be utilizing automated collection in order to keep the drivers safe. Drivers do not exit their vehicles to manually handle trash or recycling. WM requires all trash and recycling to be contained inside WM bins.

How do I cancel my current service?

Please call your current trash and recycling provider to cancel service before April 4th, 2025 to avoid duplicate services.

If you are a current WM customer, there is no need to call to cancel services.

What if I do not want to cancel my current service?

The Wright Farms Metropolitan District is providing trash and recycling services to all residents within the district, with the exception of Jasmine Estates who are already provided services by their HOA, at no additional cost to residents. This is not an optional service that any resident may opt-out of. Fees may be imposed on any property owner that does not cancel their current services and continues to duplicate services within the District. A fee schedule will be posted once available.

Can I sign up for notices regarding holiday pickup or severe weather delays?

Yes, residents can call Waste Management and add their contact information with Customer Service to receive notices. Please do not call until mid-March to allow time for Waste Management to update their records regarding service to the District.

Dumpster Days

The District has the option to provide two community dumpster days annually. The dates and the location of the roll-off dumpsters will be provided to the community in advance if scheduled. This service is intended for use of the Wright Farms Metropolitan District community only, non-residents will not have access to this service.

What is the status of my Waste Management account?

Each property will have a subaccount with Waste Management. Waste Management is in the process of adding all of the accounts to their system, but it will not be finalized until mid-March. Customer service is aware of the upcoming service to Wright Farms, but the setup of the accounts will not be complete until mid-March. Please wait until mid-March to call WM regarding questions, requests for additional bins, etc.

Will I need to contact Waste Management to set up the service?

No. There is no need for any resident to call WM to set up service unless you want service beyond the standard service of 1 trash and 1 recycling bin being provided by the District. The District has already set up the standard service for the community. Existing WM customers will be automatically converted to the new service. If you don't have WM, please make sure to cancel your service at the end of March.

Any additional questions or concerns can be submitted via the District’s website contact page or by calling the District’s hotline number at 720.560.1984.
